Max Goes to the Moon – Comments from Kids

Send us your own comments to post.

Max Goes to the Moon was a great book. Mixing facts with a fictional story. It should be nominated for an award. This book pulled me in. The story made me think about what Max would do on the Moon, and if they started taking animals to space. When I read a book with just facts it’s boring. Max on the Moon was not. It was interesting, informational, and fun to read. It was the best book I’ve ever read. I’m not lying.
— Michael Feliciano, grade 4, P.S. 117, New York City

This book is real to me. In the future and now. If people build a dome [on the Moon], kids will always want to go up into space… I know lots of people will read Max Goes to the Moon because I will tell people about your book. I learned lots of facts I didn’t know, and things that can happen when I’m grown. I like your book.
— Yusef Griffin, Grade 4, P.S. 117, New York City

I love your story Max Goes to the Moon… I love science, so your book made me feel like a scientist.
— Sandy Peredo, grade 4, P.S. 117, New York City

I really liked your book. It’s filled with facts that I didn’t know. I am not good in science (I bet you really are!) but I enjoyed your book.
— Laury Saunders, grade 4, P.S. 117, New York City

I really loved the book Max Goes to the Moon. I really loved the book because it has two genres mixed together and I never read such an amazing book. I also loved the book because it had lots of details about space and the Moon.
— Jaweria Tahir, grade 4, P.S. 117, New York City

My opinion of the book Max Goes to the Moon is that it’s very good and very scientific. I think that the art is very realistic. I also like how there was science facts on each page of the book and how there was also a fiction story… It gets kids to be more interested in science. It is a great children’s book.
— Ashfia Alam, grade 4, P.S. 117, New York City

My teacher Mrs. LaSpina read your book Max Goes to the Moon. It was really interesting… I will probably be an astronaut when I get old. My teacher said it takes a lot of ability to be an astronaut and you have to be smart so you can visit the Moon. I also like the pictures your friend Alan Okamoto drew. PS. I hope you come up with other great stories.
— Henry Luciano, grade 4, P.S. 117, New York City

I enjoyed the book Max Goes to the Moon. It has scientific facts I never knew. This book persuaded me to read some of my teacher’s (Mrs. LaSpina) science books… Because it has scientific facts and is fiction makes the book even better. I think the author should write more books.
— Shanyce Raphael Sinaswee, grade 4, P.S. 117, New York City

Max is WAY COOL!!!
— Hailey F., age 6, Denver

Max went to space
I’ve seen his face
He’s a flying ace
Max went to space

He’s an all around hound
Leaping from the ground
Up and down…
He’s an all around hound

He’s flying with the best
Better than the rest
He’s in a space vest
He’s flying with the best.

His good friend Tori
Told him a story
About people on the Moon
His good friend Tori.
